85% Cabernet Sauvignon: The “Las Casas” vineyard has a total of four and a half acres and was established at least the year 1900 according to official records, it has never been grafted. 10% Carménère and 5% Syrah help create complexity. Handpicked on March 16th.
Tasting notes Made in a “classic” style, with hints of spices, red fruits and herbs, very subtle toasted notes due to the contact with French oak. An acidity that makes it fresh and allows it to be stored at least until 2029. It is recommended to use a decanter if opened during 2023. The past version received 17,5 at JancisRobinson.

“Las Casas Vineyards” is a plot of 4,5 acres planted on gentle slopes of the hills of the Coastal Range, a few centimeters below the ground there are big stones from the Maule River, which is located less than a Kilometer away. It receives minimum intervention (is surrounded by native trees and fennel shrubs) and produces low yields. The name is because is located right next to the old adobe houses. It was planted before the year 1900 according to official records, it was first head-.pruned but then adapted to a vertical shoot positioning trellis.
Vinification
This Cabernet Sauvignon was fermented with Bordeaux yeasts in a classic style, about 10% of the wine spent 9 months in used French oak barrels. The finished wine was blended with 10% Carmenere and 5% Syrah to add complexity.
