About
Special project of the Hurtado family, who started in Viña Maquis over a century making high-quality wines in the Colchagua Valley. They found a unique place in Marchigüe, near the Pacific Ocean, marked by granitic hills with clay seams, that inspires the name for Calcu from a play on words - “CAL: Hill” and “CUrá: Stone”. The unique vineyard architecture was developed in this selected place with Xavier Choné consultant, preserving the natural flora and fauna, using a high-precision manual process to plant each variety at different altitudes and orientations to express it's maximum potential.
